Reddick strikes out 19

Frontenac head baseball coach Bill Sullivan had nothing to worry about when it came to Buster Reddick Thursday: After being sick a few games, he threw seven complete innings and tossed a no-hitter to lead the Raiders to a home win against Marmaton Valley.

Reddick threw 110 pitches, walking just two batters and hitting one while striking out 19 in the win, 5-0. Sullivan said it was the best that he has seen Reddick throw. On the season, Reddick has 43 strikeouts on 14 innings pitched.

Offense also helped as Robert Seward hit an RBI triple in the fifth to score Reddick.

The Raiders will play a league doubleheader on 4:30 p.m. Monday in Baxter Springs.

The Riverton Rams pounded out 11 runs on 7 hits to knock off Frontenac on Wednesday with a final score of 11-8 in a make-up game from last week.

The Raiders had won the first game last week, but the second game was postponed because of rain.
